italian front Posted November 14, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2016 Hi, can you tell me exactly what helmet is it? Is it an APH-5 or is it a SPH-4 or again an HGU? Thanks I.F.

72psb Posted November 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted November 15, 2016 Yes it could have been used there or stateside or any place the Army flew.
northcoastaero Posted November 21, 2016 Share #5 Posted November 21, 2016 Looks like an early production SPH-4 with olive drab green glue on visor lock knob tracks on each side of the center track. Also note a silver colored visor lock knob screw instead of black. There were earlier versions of the SPH-4 (pre 1969) that were designated DH- . These helmets were slightly different though. Your helmet is US Army as stated above and could be used in helicopters or the OV-1 Mohawk aircraft. Hope this helps.
