This is a set of folk art items made by German POW's in 1945 for 1st LT. Walter H. Weaver of the 66th Armored Field Artillery Battalion/14th Armored Division. The POW camp was in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Bavaria, Germany. The set includes two picture frames and a cigarette holder/ashtray. If anyone has access to Officer information I would appreciate it. His ASN was O-1184439. Thanks.

I have an original copy of the very thick History of the 14th Amored Division, but after going through 40 pages of the Division's roster as of 9 May 1945, I could not find either a 66th Armored Field Artillery Battalion, or a Lt. Walter H. Weaver. He might have been a post war replacement, but I'm not sure what to say about the 66th AFAB. There was a 66th in the 4th Armored Division. Sorry that I could not help.

Bitten again by the unwanted rotation bug.

Hirsca, thanks for looking. There is a hand written note that came with it. I could be misreading the last name as it is in cursive. I assumed 14th armored because it is painted on the pieces. Perhaps he was part of the 4th Armored. I'll keep digging. Thanks fore you help!
