northcoastaero Posted October 28, 2016 Share #5 Posted October 28, 2016 Nice helmet. Possibly a pre PRK-37/P shell without a nape strap? According to a mid-1980s manual, the KA-3B Skywarrior used a PRK-37/P helmet shell with a boom microphone/amplifier/ Y cable form fit liner-- designated HGU-52/P or a HGU-47(v)1/P with a styrofoam liner and foam/leather pads interior. The mask for these two helmets was the MBU-17(v)1/P with an amplifier/straight cable/and MC-3A hose end connector. The EA-3B Skywarrior used the mini-regulator setup on the mask, designated MBU-14(v)3/P. Your helmet without a boom microphone could possibly be setup for the crewman who sat behind the pilot or for an extra passenger who sat on the floor behind and between the pilot and navigator? What type of liner is in the helmet?

The oxy mask seen attached on the helmet was used for photo purposes, it didn't come with the helmet. Here is a photo of the liner. I appreciate every input.
