M2 Ammo bag / questions

Trying to dress a mannequin as a ww2 tail gunner turret I was wondering if they used the M2 or M2A1 ammo bag.

I believe the asnwer is NO because this bags were for bazozoka and mortar ammo... but I prefer to ask and make sure.

On the other side, would you please post pictures of your ww2 gunner crews (stuff and / or mannequins?

I believe your correct, it would be too tight in a tail gunners position for this too be worn.

Due to the size and weight of .50 cal. ammo, it was never carried on the person by aircrewmen. In addition, the interior of bomber aircraft, in most crew positions, was too cramped for them to even wear a complete parachute, rather having to use the quick-attachable type where the harness was worn, but the actual parachute pack was stowed nearby for use in an emergency. As for the tail gunner specifically, in a B-17, he would have been kneeling on a bicycle-type seat with his chest behind an armor plate and reaching forward to trigger his guns, ammo for which was fed through chutes on either side of him from large boxes to his rear.
