I have been searching for a while for Field Manuals about the recovery of vehicles. This because we have ww2 US army recovery vehicles and I can't find a Field Manual about the recovery in the field.

Maybe someone can help me with this.

There is an Engineer manual that has a chapter on recovering vehicles. I have a copy in my library if I can find it I'll get you the number of it.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. We have the Ward la France M1A1 wrecker in our collection and it is a beautiful truck to see.

Ernie Pyle stated that the ordnance dept recovered and repaired wrecked vehicles...not sure if that is by the book or an observation he made in the field...but he had a few good stories about recovering a few tanks...

I had a friend who found a group to and Ordnance outfit. He was going to do and article on it.He called the unit "Eagle Ordnance" and said they were under Bradleys command. He had photos of bradleys staff car.

I did purchase a large photo album group from him that was from the unit I recall but never found out what happned to the pictures of Bradleys car.
