cwnorma Posted September 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2008 Here is a recent addition. 3 1/8 inch, sterling and 10K construction. At some point during the life of this wing, the tip of the left wing apparently snagged on something. It has been expertly repaired but the repair is visible if you look very closely. IMPERIAL QUEST Posted September 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2008 Hi Chris, You guys are killing me with these examples...I really NEED one for my collection. Beautiful wing. Do we know who manufactured these (stateside/overseas)?
pfrost Posted September 28, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 28, 2008 I believe Eisenstad (spelling?) is the firm that is frequently linked to these wings. Sweet! P
cwnorma Posted September 28, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted September 28, 2008 I believe Eisenstad (spelling?) is the firm that is frequently linked to these wings. Sweet! P This particular pair is unmarked, but as Patrick says, the so-called "mustache" wing is usually associated with the firm of Luther Eisenstadt & Co. of St Louis MO: Eisenstadt's Hallmark An 'E' within an 'L' The level of craftsmanship of this wing, is certainly of the caliber of Eisenstadt. Each ray of each star in the canton of the shield is hand chiseled creating a double-faceted surface that reflects the light. This is one of those wings that you really have to see in person to appreciate the level of detail that is evident in a jeweler-made wing. My poor photography skills don't do it justice.
