I have been looking for this one everywhere. Including on the NYARNG Distictive Units site. This one doesn't appear to be on it? I am sure that it is one of thye NYNG units, but which one? I found one almost the same but instead of having a dark blue top like this one, it has a light blue top, belonging to the 27th Infantry Div. 71st Field Bde. Ok guys what it is?

Thanks,

Kent

Hey Brent,

I certainly appreciate the info on this one. I couldn't find this one on the NY State Guard site.

Thanks,

Hello Again Brent,

I just went on to the NY State Military Museum site under the New York Army National Guard Distinctive Unit Insignias page, and when I went on the page for the 102nd AAA BTN it shows a DUI with a white, rather than the dark blue top? Did they at one point change this DUI crest?

Thanks,

Kent

Hi Kent,

Yes, I see that. It's an error on their web page.

I checked two of my references, the ASMIC Coast Artillery catalog and Distinctive Insignia of the National Guard (1924-1939) by Robert Capistrano and they both show your DI as the 102nd AAA Brigade.

The DI with the white top is listed in the ASMIC Medical catalog as the 27th Division Medical Detachment.

Here is a link to another topic posted on the forum with the same thing you mentioned. See post #6, in that topic, for the ASMIC catalog description of your DI.

Hope you find this helpful.
