Patchcollector Posted October 7, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2016 Hi all,Here from my collection is an interesting Gunship variation piece that I've rarely seen.It is Thai made.I like how the design substitutes a rendition of Charlie Chaplin in place of the "C" in the "AC-47" designation. I do not know if this is a generic "party suit" type patch or a unit specific piece. The AC-47 was the first dedicated platform to be utilized in Vietnam as a Gunship. The side firing concept was first brought up around 1927! Here is the fascinating story about how the Gunship concept came about: http://www.ac-119gunships.com/ac47/gunshipac47.htm
