johnny12550 Posted October 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2016 I got this patch with mid 1960s Air Force patches. The Marine patch was with a set of Naval wings and Officer's bars an ribbons. From what I found on the net this was a Marine Group who was transferred to Thailand in 1962 and returned to home base in 1962, so, the unit spent it's time in Thailand for less than a year. I looked all over the net and can't find another patch like it. "Air Cobra" was an OP they were involved in while there. If anyone has a similar patch I would love to see it. Thanks, John

firefighter Posted October 6, 2016 Share #4 Posted October 6, 2016 That is a great looking patch, looks Japanese made?
johnny12550 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted October 7, 2016 Yeah, I think it's Japanese made. They left Japan for Thailand in 1962 and then returned to Japan in 1962 after Operation Air Cobra
firefighter Posted October 7, 2016 Share #6 Posted October 7, 2016 From what I could find SEATO (SEA Treaty Org) Exercise Air Cobra was a 'show of force' type exercise that was part of JTF-116, NO combat action. They were in UDORN, Thailand.
