MasonK Posted September 30, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 30, 2016 Just picked this group of patches up today from a local fella for $20. Patches are a mixture of WWII through modern. Loving the USS Tusk patch; probably my favorite of the haul. Appears to have age to it. I'm assuming 60's era? 501st PIR I believe are 60's era. Tank destroyer is post-war; reunion patch I assume? I'm most interested in the 82nd patch without the tab. It's embroidered on a velvet material. Definite synthetic thread. Collector's or reunion patch? Thanks for looking, and any input is appreciated!

MPoorthuis Posted September 30, 2016 Share #18 Posted September 30, 2016 Nice buy! Is the BRO patch WWII? It seems post-war period, but the image isn't very clear.
tredhed2 Posted September 30, 2016 Share #19 Posted September 30, 2016 Your navy SSX1 patch is for an experimental submarine and its crew. We pubbed an article on it in the A-J 2016 issue of The Trading Post.

Hey MPoorthuis, Bro is merrowed edge, so way post-war. Still retains green thread from being sewn on Class A's.
MasonK Posted September 30, 2016 Author Share #21 Posted September 30, 2016 Whats the origin of this one? I'm wondering the same thing...Odd patch, and can't find another. Meterial is velvet, but embroidery is synthetic threads. Has a WWI look, with modern material.
