trenchfoot Posted September 29, 2016 Share #6 Posted September 29, 2016 The have been some of these floating around that were used in the movie "fury" This may be one of them. I would ask for more pictures to make sure it is real. I would never buy anything with such few blurry pictures, but that's just me.
tylis2 Posted September 29, 2016 Share #7 Posted September 29, 2016 Not a US M-38. Probably French.... Steve
LarryM3 Posted September 29, 2016 Share #8 Posted September 29, 2016 European. This style tanker helmet was used post-war by many European nations. Could be Belgian, Dutch, or Italian. Larry

Garandomatic Posted September 30, 2016 Share #10 Posted September 30, 2016 Man... That's a pretty close helmet to my eye... What's the tell? the black ear pieces inside? The crossed straps on the outside?
Garandomatic Posted September 30, 2016 Share #11 Posted September 30, 2016 Also... If these are foreign, are they any cheaper than a US helmet? I need a tanker helmet for this year's yearbook picture and if it was a reasonable alternative to arepro at $140, it might be something to look for. earlymb Posted September 30, 2016 Share #12 Posted September 30, 2016 The crossed straps are the most obvious difference, but also the overall shape of the helmet, placing of ventilation holes, lack of springs on the side etc... Only you can decide if it's good enough.
collector1944 Posted October 9, 2016 Share #13 Posted October 9, 2016 Looks like a west German post war tanker helmet. Here's a link to an article with more in depth info http://combathelmets.blogspot.com/2008/07/bundeswehr-tankers-helmet-cold-war-era.html?m=1 Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
