Here are some pictures of a very early AF unit in Vietnam. If you notice, on the one flight jacket tag it has, HQ ATC (Air Training Command ). Patchcollector Posted September 28, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2016 The patch on the left side of the uniform and the ballcap is for the South Vietnamese Air Force (VNAF) 43rd Air Transport Group.This is the unit that the USAF personnel were first attached to as advisors and co-pilots.The 43rd patch is tougher to find that a "Dirty Thirty" patch. I was fortunate to acquire a 43rd and a "Dirty Thirty" patch that are named to the Pilot that originally owned them. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
