rustbucket Posted September 20, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 20, 2016 I'd like to see what kind of painted or ID'd gas masks are out there in everyone's collection. I have posted the four that I have, and look forward to seeing pics of yours.

aef1917 Posted September 20, 2016 Share #16 Posted September 20, 2016 It's interesting to see that in some cases, it looks like they used the same stencil to paint helmets, like the 2nd, 8th, 27th, 77th, 78th,79th and 89th. Here's another 79th Division where the same stencil was used on both.

world war I nerd Posted September 21, 2016 Share #18 Posted September 21, 2016 I forgot to look in my USMC folder ... plus I had a few cropped images of painted satchels that I didn't post. world war I nerd Posted September 21, 2016 Share #23 Posted September 21, 2016 AEF17, it never occurred to me that the same stencil might have been used on both the helmet and gasmask satchel ... thanks for pointing that out. 2nd Engineer Regiment, 2nd Division - all apparently made with the same (or a similar) stencil. world war I nerd Posted September 21, 2016 Share #25 Posted September 21, 2016 Doyler, yes please post a larger image of your Blackhawk bag ... also what is "rero"? Never mind ... its "repro" That's probably why I didn't have an image of the entire bag. I must have deleted it but missed the EGA. Thanks for pointing that out Doyler. By itself, the EGA looks quite authentic, but on the bag decorated like a Christmas tree it looks as phony as a $3 bill.
