6850th Internal Security Detachment Nuremberg DI - Pin Back

Found a pair of 6850th Internal Security Detachment DI's for the Nuremberg War Crimes Gaurds at an estate sale for $4 each! These came from a veteran who was in the Signal Corps and made films for the Trials.

 

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has seen the unmarked versions like these with the Horizontal Pin?

 

Did Lauer make these? I know he made the screwbacks ones, but was he the only maker of these? Also, are these pin-back ones an early example or maybe made for wear on the overseas caps?
