Willys44 Posted September 11, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2016 In 1944 a B 17 from 560 BS, 388 BG 45 CBW 3 BD 8 AF crashed 1 km from my home in Denmark The plane was shot down by a Ju88 on the return flight from a bombing raid on Bremen in Germany. I got these two Things when i was a boy from the farmer who owns the field they crashed on. a silk map of Denmark and northern Germany and a rescue West ! My question is; which patch in connection with 8 AF would they'd had on their clothes ? If someone would help me, I would very much like to see pictures of patches so I know what to look for to an exhibition at the local museum. doyler Posted September 11, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2016 Here is a quick search on the unit.It shows the Group patches. Hard to say if they were or would be wearing any at the time of the crash. Good luck with research and display. http://www.388bg.info/Units.html http://www.388thbga.org/388th-bg--h-
