MattS Posted August 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 21, 2016 I hadn't found a WW2 helmet for sale locally in years, then I found 2 in a week. The dirty Firestone liner is rough and the inside of the shell is rusty. Any ideas what the marking means?

MattS Posted August 21, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted August 21, 2016 Thanks! It came from a flea market from a guy who called it "an army hat", so I'm pretty sure it's all original.
dogface44 Posted August 21, 2016 Share #6 Posted August 21, 2016 Hello, I have been told these tactical signs are related to the 20th Armored Division. I remember seeing pictures of the 20th armored with similar signs. There are variants of the insignia too. If I remember well, I have seen a variant recovered in France, the owner might even be on this forum. I have a relic that is identical to yours and is also a SB. They arrived late in France so the SBs make sense. I'll find the pictures of mine.
