USAAF navigators bag?

I found this bag/case on Epay several weeks ago.

After searching trough several USAAF gear books I couldn't find any information.

Hope someone on the forum could tell me more about this bag.

Looking at the materials 1940's construction? maybe 1950's? Looks like a modern flight helmet bag design....This is a cool bag...why USN specific? are there other examples similar?

Hi.

Canvas is WW2 USN grey canvas used with parachute pack or M592 survival kit. Well know for any USN aviation collector.

 

 

It looks like 100% custom made special for pilot or navigator person, one of the kind.

Maybe it is my pic but the canvas looks tan/kahki...not the grey canvas... will yield to your Navy knowledge... ... I like it too...

it is typical USN grey canvas, also a characteristic is a reverse side...(inside bag).
