Collecting Marine Raider Groups

On the battlefield, Pfc Edward Ahrens, an Able Company BAR man, lay dying, soaked in his own blood.

As his company commander, Lew Walt cradled him in his arms, he surveyed the scene around them. Nearby lay a Japanese officer, a sergeant, and thirteen enlisted men, all dead. Ahrens had been shot twice in the chest and bayoneted three times. He whispered to Walt, "Captain, they tried to come over me last night, but I don't think they made it." Choking back tears, Walt replied softly, "They didn't, Eddy. They didn't."

You're filling that new space up quite nicely. It's ironic how sometimes we're almost more satisfied with obtaining the correct method of displaying our collections than some of the things we collect. It can take years to find what you'd find satisfactory to hold some historical items. I've been looking for the right case to house some things and seven years later I'm still looking. Is that case big enough to have helmets in? If so, winner, winner, chicken dinner on that new acquisition! ;)

Looking for anything related to Army Ranger Battalions from World War II

  • 2 years later...

I stuck some helmets in the case...

rps20160808_085202.jpg

To me the only obvious use of the top case was for helmets. Anything else would be a waste of case.? This is, to me, the perfect display case.
