GMPETE Posted August 8, 2016 Share #26 Posted August 8, 2016 Great group! The three combs, and three other objects (bone, bamboo, and wood) are all New Guinea. The two decorated combs are probably from the Massim region. The bamboo object is likely an arrow tip with cover that has lost its shaft. The bone object with carved face looks particularly interesting. These are usually daggers and made of cassowary femurs. Sometimes human. They are carried in armbands, but I see yours is blunt so either lost its tip or was some other type ritual object. The carved wood piece might be a canoe model? Love that theater made pine ply crate! Really nice.
