WAHOOMAN Posted August 7, 2016 Author #27 Posted August 7, 2016 After Korea this veteran had assignments at Ft Bliss and a tour in Vietnam from June 1963 - July 1966. He served as an advisor in Phu- Cat.
WAHOOMAN Posted August 7, 2016 Author #28 Posted August 7, 2016 Additional photo. Can anyone identify the aviation unit in the second photo?
WAHOOMAN Posted August 7, 2016 Author #29 Posted August 7, 2016 Upon his return from Vietnam he was interviewed by the Austin Statesman.
WAHOOMAN Posted August 7, 2016 Author #31 Posted August 7, 2016 In 1968 he transitioned to the Air Defense Artillery. I believe he was in the first group of field grade officers to make the transition to the Air Defense Artillery.

Guest doberman2 Posted August 17, 2016 #41 Posted August 17, 2016 My father is / was Earl J. Lochhead; I couldn't be more proud to this day of his accomplishments. He not only was a hero to me but my best friend.....and I still break-down every time I read this post. My father was truly a West Pointer, in that, believing in truth, duty & honor was the way he lived his life. He was a professional soldier that found time to be a loving DAD. The grouping you see is a small part of the story and meant to keep his memory alive for another generation. I am grateful to WahooMan for his work and diligence in putting this together. He too is special in many ways and continues to amaze me with his brilliance.
Rakkasan187 Posted August 29, 2016 #42 Posted August 29, 2016 Great work.. You have a special knack for preserving unique histories.. Leigh
WAHOOMAN Posted May 8, 2020 Author #43 Posted May 8, 2020 Remembering LTC Lochhead on his birthday. RIP.
Retriever465 Posted January 8 #45 Posted January 8 It's hard to believe but it's almost 18 years since my father, LTC EJ Lochhead, left us in 2007. I wish I could ask him more questions about his service. He, like many veterans, was quiet about life in the Army.
