Patchcollector Posted August 3, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 3, 2016 Hi all,I've been seeking a pinback Army Aviator Wing for some time and I found this one. From what I've learned researching these they were probably made/used from the early 50's up through the late 60's.The back view of the sellers' photo is bright so the only mark I can see is the VANGUARD N.Y. one. Is my assumption about the dates made/used correct? Thanks
tarbridge Posted August 3, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 3, 2016 I think the time frame is correct...
flytiger Posted August 3, 2016 Share #3 Posted August 3, 2016 PB Army Aviator wings were made ( and issued) 1950s - early 1960s. My "issue" wing in 65 was CB and never saw any PBs except on a few CW4s and O3s and above. Stateside PXs may have had them but since I did not buy ant at the time not sure. They are a nice wing to own.

Patchcollector Posted August 3, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted August 3, 2016 Yes,I noticed that.On the back, near the upper right of the shield, under the pin appears to be something stamped but is obscured by the flash.Like you I'm thinking perhaps "Sterling"? I'll know for sure when it arrives.
