Major (Dr) Josephine Stephens

Wasn't sure if I should post here or in ephemera, but thought would be better here.

 

 

Dr. Josephine Stephens (1902 - 1994) was from Monongahela, PA. Her service dates were 27 Nov 1943 to 26 Jan 1946. She was in the ETO, and from what I can gather was stationed in Paris, and probably was Dr. to the large contingent of WACs stationed there. This was in a collection of photos from a WAC who was also stationed in Paris.

Thanks for the lead! Just ordered the book.

 

I had looked on-line for her and only saw a few newspaper references to 1952 in her home town.

She was a pediatrician but was classified as general duty but handled most of the women's cases. It's a very good book.
