ComputerChris Posted July 27, 2016 Share #3 Posted July 27, 2016 The NH is probably for New Hampshire. A few guesses; New Hampshire forest fire group an old CCC patch for New Hampshire ( Don't think they made these in Leather though.) Maybe BSA Hatchet Patch? Good luck! rmoore456 Posted January 25, 2017 Share #9 Posted January 25, 2017 It looks like the axe head is bloody. I wouldn't think an association, club or the BSA would use that. Just my 2 cents. Ray
tredhed2 Posted January 25, 2017 Share #10 Posted January 25, 2017 There were a lot of state militia and home guard units active during WW II, and their insignia, being locally made, had some unique characteristics.
Grant S. Posted January 26, 2017 Share #11 Posted January 26, 2017 The only army unit from NH is/was the 172nd Field Artillery.
Geo3310 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Share #12 Posted February 3, 2017 I can't remember when I picked this up and was unsure if it had any connection to the military. I appreciate all the info. It will give me a direction to continue my research. Thank you.
