KASTAUFFER Posted July 22, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2016 This is an original roster kept by the Japanese of the POWs held at OMORI in late 1944 - TOKYO BASE CAMP # 1. This was the camp the Japanese often kept the "special" POWs at such as Louis Zamperini and Pappy Boyington. Quite a few Aviators and Submarine crew members were held there. This was brought home by a GI who notated on it that is is a " List of the P.W's at a proson camp we evacuated" Most of this kind of material ended up in the National Archives and is still there. This one was brought home as a souvenir.

KASTAUFFER Posted July 22, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted July 22, 2016 Thanks for the info Eric! I had always thought it was from late 1945. It's good to know it's actually from August 44. Kurt

Sent from my LG-LS995 using Tapatalk I did not see him on the list, but I also didn't see a lot of American officers on the list. Kurt
