sundance Posted July 22, 2016 Share #4 Posted July 22, 2016 Neat item - so what's wrapped up behind it? Anything military?
Lawdog Posted July 23, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted July 23, 2016 Neat item - so what's wrapped up behind it? Anything military? It's a silk, 48 star flag wrapped in December 1941 newspaper. It flew in front of a family's house in Ohio the morning of Dec 7, 1941. After the attack on Pearl Harbor was reported, the family removed the flag, wrapped it in their local newspaper and tied it with a daughter's red hair ribbon. It's been wrapped EVER SINCE. Obtained directly from the family.
