vzemke Posted September 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 18, 2008 I recently lucked upon a rather large collection of patches that included over 200 color 1980's USAF unit patches (with a very heavy emphasis on airlift units). Not my normal area of collecting but I must admit I have been having a blast figuring out what all the different units are. Since taking this picture I have ID'ed the 910th CAM (Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Sqn) and the 1550th TCHTS (Tech. Training Sqn.). Anyone know what the other 4 are? Thank you, Vance
Bluehawk Posted September 18, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 18, 2008 Not sure this will be useful, but, my uncle was an a/c electrician in a USAF flightline unit in Japan during Korean war... which was (he said) called "Blue Barons". Their bird at the time was the C-119 though... and I cannot for the life of me remember his Squadron number. Could it be the same as your number 2 from the top left? Also, "Nulli Secundus" is the motto of the US Army 125th Medical Battalion... which may or may not have any bearing whatsoever upon your patch top row far right. Teamski Posted September 18, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 18, 2008 Vance, The Blue Barons were the 62nd Tactical Airlift Squadron flying C-130's out of Little Rock AFB, AR. The Pelican patch is the 68th Military Airlift Squadron, a C-5 reserve unit from Kelly AFB, TX. The last two appear to be rather uncommon Military Airlift Command CINC crew patches. The crew flew the MAC commander's C-141. Nice collection of patches! Well done! -Ski
