I going out on a limb and saying it's interwar years due to the absence of the woven rope? Or am I totally off base on this one? This style of EGA harks back to a WW1 era EGA depiction and art-deco look, however I believe your bookend to be from the 1940's to 1970's. I have cleaned out many former Marine houses and have found these exact ones in WW2 to Vietnam era vets lots. They pop up from time to time on E-bay as sets for about $80-100. $20 was a good buy, but now you have to wait for another one to get a set! Good luck.
