Amazing collection of images! I like the one from Rose Bud, just due to where it's from, but some amazing content in the others.

Thanks for posting them.

Don - amazing history in these fantastic images. I hope others post here and expand this great thread.

Re photo #4 in post 21 - is it possible that this Soldier is wearing foreign medals? The drapes on them look Austrian or other European. Am just curious if that could be the case and that it was allowed if so. Kind of neat.

Hello

Thanks I appreciate it and I to hope more will be posted

I am not really sure about the two medals you are referring to. The blouse is definitely different

Maybe someone else can tell

Military Engineer

This one's earlier than this threat. I've had it for about 25 years and it's one of my favorites.

The Regimental Quartermaster officer in post #39 is really terrific. I am working on a book about metal QMC insignia, and its nice to see these in use on a real person. Thanks for sharing. And no, I will not add the picture to my book (its already printing as we speak!).

Company F, 1st Infantry, Oregon National Guard.
I'd guess early 1890s.
Image was really light but I darkened it. Has Oregon state seal buttons.

In 1901 he was commander of the 33rd Company, CAC, at one of my local forts, Fort Canby. He commanded the 157th FA Brigade in WWI, receiving a DSM for work during St. Mihiel. From 1932-34 he was CO of the 6th Coast Artillery and the Harbor Defenses of San Francisco.
