Era of the Antisubmarine VS 24 patch

I was hoping someone might be able to pinpoint the vintage or era of this VS 24 patch. I know there were a couple of different designs of patches the squadron wore and I am thinking this is an earlier version. It is about 4.5" high.

I have an image of the same design in felt/sewn thread version , which I think was their first one , yours is probably right after it or same era , what aircraft did they use ??????

I may be able to narrow it down ................

VS-24 flew the AF-2S/AF-2W Guardian and the S2F Tracker during the 1950s-1960s.
