jagjetta Posted July 12, 2016 Share #7 Posted July 12, 2016 Here are before and after photos of a WC-57 restored by Gary Wirth that shows the similar back end. The tub you illustrated has had some heavy modification at the driver's entrance (though it might indicate it is a different body style than the command car). dustin Posted July 12, 2016 Share #8 Posted July 12, 2016 That shouldn't be too surprising to see these GPA's in Moscow since 51,000 were sent to Russia lend lease during WWII. They do however need to come home! haha
earlymb Posted July 12, 2016 Share #9 Posted July 12, 2016 The vehicle in the first pic is actually a Gaz 46, a Russian copy of the GPA. The second vehicle seems to be an original GPA.
respectingthesacrifice Posted July 13, 2016 Author Share #10 Posted July 13, 2016 Thank you ealymb, didn't know the Russians made a copy of the GPA. Interesting to notice on the front of Dodge command car, one can still read the inscription about tire pressure, see photo.
