Hi there guys. Yet another thread from yours truly haha!

I am looking at setting up a display for an m1 Rifle with grenade launcher attached.

Does anyone know the exact set up for this?

I have searched thr internet but cannot find any good explanations on what each part is called.

I understand there is a grey launcher part which fits onto the end of the rifle but what is the green part which the grenade fits onto called?

And was it only pineaple grenades which were used on the launcher?

Thank you everyone!

Scott

Scotty..what info you need ?

M-1 Garand took the M7 launcher...with the addition of the correct gas cylinder plug

it took all manner of rifle grenades including flares and illumination rounds ...including the pineapple grenade accompanied by the launcher adaptor as mentioned before.

Obviously it used 30.06 blanks that's why you see grenadiers with an extra bandolier for the blanks rather than ready rounds

Hope this helps

regards

Jumpin Jack

The cartridge was a blank, but not of the standard type as it was crimped at the small opening. Jack

I have no idea mate haha! Ww2 model so not sure!

Which is which?

Scott

the M1 had 4 prongs to hold the grenade and the base had slotted or solid fins with no designation difference. the M1A1 had 3 prongs with solid fins and the M1A2 had 3 prongs and slotted fins.
