NEED HELP IDENTIFYING AIRCRAFT

I recently acquired a piece of WWI era airplane fabric. Written on the rear of the fabric is a eyewitness account of the crash on November 27, 1918 at the Naval Base in Hampton Roads Virginia. The Aircraft is referred to as Plane # 410....I've exhausted all my searches with no results other that if it was a Navy Aircraft it was a Burgess N-9 ( a contract built Curtiss ) . If it was an Army Aircraft it was a Curtiss H-14 tranfferred to the Navy as an HS-1..Any help is appreciated in identifying the crash and the aircraft...Thanks
