Backtheattack Posted July 8, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 8, 2016 Found this strongly used baseball bat yesterday. Think markings should read Hillerich & Bradsby Co, Louisville KY. Found in the net one site dealing with Army sports, but no more informations.
Backtheattack Posted July 8, 2016 Author Share #2 Posted July 8, 2016 Here the markings: Is this bat Wartime? Where can I found some more informations about the firm? Noticed different types of markings.
WW2JAKE Posted July 8, 2016 Share #3 Posted July 8, 2016 This bat is from between 1932 and 1952 based on the "Made in USA" on top and the H&B style on the label. to narrow it down further would be near impossible as there are no changes in the label for that entire 20 years
hbtcoveralls Posted July 8, 2016 Share #4 Posted July 8, 2016 I have a H&B WWII US Navy softball bat (very similar) and it is marked USN Softball on the barrel of the bat (near the striking surface ). I've seen others that were US Army marked as well. If it isn't marked then it isn't an "issue" bat, but it is of the time period for WWII and is a good looking bat.
