Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted August 2, 2017 Author Share #176 Posted August 2, 2017 This image just feels off to me, how high resolution it is, the 3 color desert helmet covers, the guy in the back with the fully tan uniform and PASGT vest, but the two in the front are wearing the black armor that rangers did, so I think it's legit. 63 RECON Posted August 2, 2017 Share #177 Posted August 2, 2017 they are some great pics you posted. I found that last picture on line and the caption is United States soldiers return fire at snipers from behind a wall just outside the compound of Somali warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid in Mogadishu in 1993

Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted August 2, 2017 Author Share #179 Posted August 2, 2017 they are some great pics you posted. I found that last picture on line and the caption is United States soldiers return fire at snipers from behind a wall just outside the compound of Somali warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid in Mogadishu in 1993 I wonder if that's true, consider where the photographer is standing, it does look like there is a little something bottom right so perhaps he is in cover, also I doubt those cinder blocks would stop an intermediate rifle round, much less a full power rifle round, although often "snipers" in these fights against untrained forces are just a guy with an AK taking potshots from a distance. Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted August 2, 2017 Author Share #180 Posted August 2, 2017 Sorry for neglecting the 2-14 Infantry, 10th Mountain Division and the Malaysians and Pakistanis, it's not because I've forgotten them, it's because all photos of 1st SFOD and Rangers in Somalia are related to Gothic Serpent, while most pictures of the 10th Mountain Division an the Malaysians and Pakistanis are from Operation Restore Hope, making it hard to tell if they are the rescue forces or not. A/2-14 Infantry "Terminators" Mogadishu, Somalia October 1993 A mermorial ceremony at the university compound held in honor of Pfc. Jame Henry Martin Jr,, 2nd Platoon, A Company, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, three days after he was killed in the Battle of Mogadishu. Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted August 2, 2017 Author Share #182 Posted August 2, 2017 I posted a cropped version of this a while back. I don't think I've posted this one before but this thread is so long it's hard to check. Baakara Market, I think taken by 1st SFOD-D because of the flashlight mounted to the rifle. Blacksmith Posted August 3, 2017 Share #190 Posted August 3, 2017 I absolutely second that. I've read through this topic multiple times, and I think it does a great job memorializing the men that fought and sacrificed in that operation. If you haven't watched Major Struecker's convocation video from Liberty University, it's well worth the time: I've enjoyed this post immensely. Thanks to all who have contributed to it. Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted October 14, 2017 Author Share #196 Posted October 14, 2017 DEVGRU Red Squadron, unlike the picture of Gold Squadron earlier on I can tell for sure this is in Moghadishu as part of TF Ranger, in the background you can seen the white railing of the JOC seen in other photos in this thread. I think the man on the left may be wearing an ZTL A.Z.T. vest like some of the rangers.
