WWII Legacy Girl Posted July 5, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2016 Hello there, I am wondering if anyone might know if the WWII Marine Paratrooper, or Paramarines, had a motto of their own? For example, the Marine Raiders were the originators of the term "Gung Ho" and that was their "motto" so to speak. I was close friends with WWII Marine PFC Bill Faulkner, who was a Paramarine and the foxhole buddy of Ira Hayes. He fought on all the islands early in the war that the Paramarines were involved at as well as Iwo Jima. Unfortunately, he has passed since, but I would still like to know what the motto of that unit was. Thanks! ViewfinderGyrene Posted July 5, 2016 Share #2 Posted July 5, 2016 Good Afternoon Ms. Rutan, A good friend of mine knows everything there is to know about the Marine Paratroopers. I've asked him and he is checking his records. He did tell me however they did have their own hymn equivalent to Halls of Montezuma... Have sent you a "PM" introducing myself, as a fellow young researcher/interviewer ~Dean [ViewfinderGyrene], age
