Brewdude45 Posted June 27, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 27, 2016 I have a WW2 front seam swivel bail stainless steel rim Schlueter M-1 helmet. the helmet has nice texture and what appears to be nice WW2 paint as well. The problem? It has been repainted with post war puke green paint and sand texture over the top of the WW2 paint! It sickens me to know that underneath the post war paint is WW2 texture and paint but I am equally afraid of damaging the WW2 paint in an attempt to strip the post war paint. Should I strip the post war paint or leave it alone? If anyone thinks I should strip it the how should I do it and what products should i use? Thanks. bellasilva Posted June 27, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 27, 2016 There's quite a few threads detailing these questions, you may want to browse the helmet and helmet reference section, I recall many members getting great results from advice posted
