Hi All, found these today and thought they were interesting. They seem to be enclosed in these plastic cases that were custom made for them. Not sure what they were used for, maybe display? They look fairly modern to me but not sure. Thanks

Both modern production. I want to say I've seen these on displays or with figurines before, but I cannot remember exactly.

Thanks for the replies. The cases are glued shut so I'm guessing they probably moved then around a lot for display?

I echo red devil. I think these went with a GI Joe or other action figure.

Yup, that's exactly what they are. Modern repros that were included in GI Joe action figures of Omar Bradley (First Army) and George Patton (1st Armored Div). No idea why they chose 1st Armored for Patton, but it's a toy, so whatever.

I want to say that the two tabs on the bottom allowed the patch to stand up behind the figure on the base which was a war torn battle scene.

Not exactly war torn, but yeah otherwise you are correct.

Great, thanks everyone. I guess I could already just put them up on eBay as original WW2 professional graded SSI patches cut from battle torn uniforms

That was supposed to be a smiley face... Not a question mark, I guess it doesn't like my emojis
