What is this AAC "dity" drawstring bag? Issue?

OK . . . I have no idea what a "dity" bag is, so . . . does anyone out there know what this cool little item was for? Would this have been issued? The add says it is 8x10".

It is a possibles bag...you carry any smalls from toothpaste...toothbrush...razor...watch...money...papers...etc.but you find them packed with anything.

During WWII Red Cross ladies across the country would make these by hand for distribution to troops.

Thanks to you both! That is a fabulous thing! Kind of like a portable nightstand drawer! ;) Very cool about the RC ladies making them. I've not read about these before. Thanks for the info!

Boy! Thanks for sharing the picture! That is the coolest looking bag. (I love bags, period) and the camo pattern is really cool! Never seen that camo before, although, I don't know much about camo. around us it is more often RealTree or MossyOak. ;)
