cbuehler Posted June 14, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 14, 2016 That is called a yoke, and was intended as a shield against the heat from the sun on the back and shoulders. CB
Sully Posted June 14, 2016 Share #3 Posted June 14, 2016 That is an experimental DCU. Small collar, backflap and if you were to unroll the sleeves you would see a narrow cuff. Contract date should be around 1989/90.
all-bull Posted June 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted June 15, 2016 Being as how it's Air Force it probably a 91 issue but not much later than that. And obviously used in the Middle East area whether it be Kuwait Sinai or other areas we had air bases. Post a pic of the label on the sleeve that will answer all your questions. Really unusual to see one there. The earliest ones were ripstop with back pulls. This looks like a second issue in heavy weight but still with the low pockets, yoke, and everything else that was mentioned.
all-bull Posted June 15, 2016 Share #5 Posted June 15, 2016 Just looked at the pics better it does appear to be rip stop. Sorry about that. Does it have the waist tabs?
