BROBS Posted June 7, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2016 Was reading this was done after 1943.. I would think perhaps by contract much like the pockets that got added on to WW1 belts? I collect Iowa made field gear so I really wanted the Des Moines Shoe Co. pouch but the Hepburn is icing on the cake. I wonder if the circle "D" stands for "Dyed"? -Brian

RustyCanteen Posted June 7, 2016 Share #5 Posted June 7, 2016 That is a nice find. I'm not sure the circle-D meant dyed. but was possibly an inspector related number when the pouch was originally produced. I've seen cartridge belts, pistol belts, pistol ammo pouches, haversacks, etc that were also redyed to OD #7.
