Flyboy_trav Posted June 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 6, 2016 I've had this grouping for a while. It's been on display in my personal collection. It came directly from the vet. I figured it was time to show this extremely rare grouping. He was in the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops, 603rd Camouflage Engineers. Included in this grouping is a German banner, flare gun with the spent casing still in the barrel, an original Patton Prayer card, his cased PH along with the piece of shrapnel that he was struck by on 03/13/1945, two pieces of parachute material from supply drops, a hand drawn map of his routes, miscellaneous paperwork and a route map of the 23rd HQ ST. The items were sent back in a German ammo crate, which is where they remained until I took possession. What makes this grouping extremely rare is that only 1100 served in the 23rd HQ Special Troops and only 9 were wounded. Photos to follow: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
