Bob Hudson Posted June 2, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2016 This past week I've had stuff come in from the estates of two WWII USMC 1st Marine Division vets. One brought home knives and swords - including the Type 32 NCO sword shown here - and the other brought field gear and uniform items including a forage cap. Bob Hudson Posted June 2, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted June 2, 2016 The sword is the late model, with the 30.5 inch blade, used by various types of NCO's during WWII. The earlier longer version was mostly used by cavalry.
muddyboots Posted June 3, 2016 Share #7 Posted June 3, 2016 WOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!! What a score! My favorite piece is the field cap. Any label or date?
sundance Posted June 3, 2016 Share #8 Posted June 3, 2016 Great items. Does the helmet have a liner? Those helmets are getting really pricey. I grabbed one long ago at a reasonable price and I'm darn glad I did.
Bob Hudson Posted June 3, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted June 3, 2016 No liner - no dates on the field cap. The gas mask bag has a label with light writing and the bag's shoulder strap has some Japanese characters stitched on it.
