Here is one for ya...came across this on FB...I like Warbirds, I think...but check out the civilian(?) helmet, or maybe prewar AAC? with stitched on HS-33 headset, and what appears to be early B-7 goggles, B-3 life preserver and the wicked A-2....

I think the helmet may be pre-war as well, but the stitched on receivers are way cool.

 

I am thinking with him being in alaska, this could be just pre-war or right at the beginning.

thanks for the update Mark....agreed this guy could bite nails..

a google search brought this up...even saltier...

caption reads "Capt Morgan Griffin of the Alaskan Flying Tigers"....

and from this angle ...the goggles are the B7s... wicked cool pick

I own exactly the same helmet equipped with Navy leather earcups. The helmet is a pre war leather commercial helmet with a silk lining. I believe there is a brand inside, I will check tonight. Mine is named to a catapult pilot on the USS Texas
