German...Steffen Kramer?

I believe that this is the firm of Karl Poellath. As Tarbridge said, it is German made.

An interesting early one, the time frame for this German made one when it was made would be brief really from around March 1957 to around April 1957. Unit, 1st Airborne Battle Group 187th Infantry, it,s assigned to the 11th Airborne Division in West Germany early March 1957, later going to the 24th Infantry Division early July 1958. In early February 1959 it's reassigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Bragg.

As you'll see the more familiar DI with curved shield and scroll was adopted in early April 1957.

WOW! Thanks for all the great input. I'm certainly familiar with Poellath for their earlier badges, particularly WW1 German aviation badges.
