101st Patch Rariety

If you were going to order these 4 patches rarest --> least rarest, what order would you put them? I thought that it would go right to left (A, B, C, D). What do you think?

I would say BCAD. This is what I have seen lately as far as price goes.

I saw an OD border go for less than a thousand last week. B should be about 2500.

C should be around 1800.

A,B,C are knockouts...all rare and expensive...

When Bando was developing his typing system, he considered the OD border patch to be the rarest, which he labeled as a "type 9." The one you have labeled "B" as a "type 8" in Bando's system, making it the second rarest. As I look back at the patches that I have seen, I would rank "B" as the one I have encountered the least. "C" would be second, and "A" would be third. The "D" patch is fairly common.

I like Allan's list. You could make the argument that C and A could be interchangable and D we all are in agreement least rare. If not mistaken C is just post war 1945-6 manufacture which could influence some voters.

Allan's list is spot on that is they way I would rank them.I have owned all of them more than a few times in 36 years but Allan's list fits my experiences.Others may have their choices because this is a very subjective list and some peoples ideas will be skewed by their wants.Scotty
