VMI88 Posted May 24, 2016 #1 Posted May 24, 2016 I just picked up an oversized pinback colonel insignia by N.S. Meyer; it's shown below along with a more recent standard size eagle. I remember reading somewhere (maybe this forum, but I can't find it now) that these were supposedly made to go on the overcoat. Does anyone have documentation to support this or is it just a collector theory? How common are they? I can't say I've run across one before. If anyone has the matching right-facing eagle or a matched set for sale, please let me know!
