sundance Posted August 12, 2019 Author Share #26 Posted August 12, 2019 OK, I finally took a look in the ramrod channel to see whether I could make out what was marked in there. There is a "B' in there standing alone. There are also 4 letters in a row which appear to be, in order, a "P" , a "G', what might be a "B" and ending with a "G" or "S". Lastly, there is what appears to be a rectangle. I think it is actually 2 symbols, letters or numbers with a depression between them. Would this info provide any help in ID'ing this pattern 1853 Enfield?

TXMarine81 Posted November 10, 2019 Share #29 Posted November 10, 2019 A book that recently came out might be of help. "The English Connection: Arms, Material, and Support Furnished to the Confederate States of America by Great Britain" by Russ Pritchard Jr. & Corky Huey. My friend Tim Prince, owner of College Hill Arsenal, Antique Roadshow appraiser, and noted British-Confederate arms expert helped co-author. Hope it helps! -Preston
