arnhem44mad Posted May 16, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 16, 2016 Hi guys and gals was wondering if any of you could help me with something? I have two original ww2 coal bags, well i hope they both are! One is dated 1943 and has a makers name (can provide of necessary, just have to dig it out). This one is light (tan) in colour and on the frontis printed '2 BUSHELS . The second i have which was actually the first i bought is dark green od. Exact dame pattern with 2 BUSHELS printed on ot but i cannot find a date. Is it possible that this dark green coal bag is post war? Or late war perhaps? Any help is much appreciated! Thank you! Scott
Brian Keith Posted May 17, 2016 Share #2 Posted May 17, 2016 Hello Scott, The answer is yes and yes, it is possible it is WW II or post war, with out a clear date it is just speculation. I posted a display with a one bushel bag here: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/256301-blacksmith-display/ They aren't very common, but don't command a high price as it isn't combat related.
