Clayton Posted May 11, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 11, 2016 Gentlemen; Could anyone tell us what we have here? We know these goods are American and we think they are WWI or earlier. Could anyone confirm those ideas? And could anyone tell us if there is any significance to the colors of these insignia? Any help is very much appreciated. Best regards, Clay

KurtA Posted May 11, 2016 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2016 Those are "middy" rates. A woman's fashion item, not regulation USN.
sigsaye Posted May 11, 2016 Share #5 Posted May 11, 2016 They are "Fashioned" after actual Navy rates, but just enough "Off" so as NOT to be. Red eagle and mark never existed. The 6bspoke wheel is wrong. US Navy always used 8 spoke.
Clayton Posted May 12, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted May 12, 2016 Guys; Is there any collector market for these middy rates?
sigsaye Posted May 12, 2016 Share #7 Posted May 12, 2016 There's a collector market for everything. You just have to find it. Maybe vintage clothing?
