Wanted to share some photos of a footlocker I picked up recently that was used by Marine Master Sergeant R.G. Kerr. The trunk dates to pre-1958 since the Master Sergeant chevron decals lack the crossed rifles (which were added in 1958). I am guessing the unit designation would be Charlie Co., 1st Bn., 6th Marines.

The rank insignia is a decal, the name and serial number are stenciled and the unit designation is hand painted.

At some point, the original handle on the front of the trunk came off, and he added a new made from two pieces of a khaki web belt!

The unit designation is also painted on the back.

Sorry to take up 4 posts getting all the pictures in - I'm still figuring that part out!
